How to read the result
- Earlier than the Final Action date — a visa number is available; your green card can be approved once everything else is done.
- Earlier than the Dates for Filing date — you may file an I-485 early, but only if USCIS designates that chart for the month (for October 2026, employment-based cases use Dates for Filing).
- "X behind the cutoff" — the cutoff has to advance by that much for your date to become current. How long that takes depends on future visa supply and demand, which no one can publish in advance.

FAQ
Does this tool predict when my green card will be approved?
No. It shows two facts: how far your priority date is from this month's cutoff, and how far that cutoff actually moved over the last 12 and 36 months. Visa numbers are released in steps and categories can retrogress, so any single "expected year" would be a guess. Use the history to judge for yourself, and check each new bulletin.
Why do I see two results?
Final Action Dates decide when a green card can be approved. Dates for Filing decide when you may submit an I-485 early — but only in months when USCIS designates that chart. The tool shows both, plus which chart USCIS designated this month for employment-based cases.
What does "pace" mean?
Pace is the net movement of the Final Action cutoff divided by calendar months elapsed. A pace of 0.50 means the cutoff moved about half a month per month, so the line got longer for people joining it. It describes the past only.
Which country should I choose?
Your country of birth, not your citizenship. China means mainland China-born; since July 2020, people born in Hong Kong are also charged to China. People born in Taiwan use Rest of World.
